I was invited to see a great band this weekend at the secret dumpster pool spot in Brooklyn. If you are not familiar with the dumpster pool concept you should check out the story at ReadyMade and Inhabitat. It was really a great time - the Bluegrass style band Thy Burden was awesome and had just about everyone there dancing, plus 6 grills cranking out corn on the cob, hot dogs and hamburgers and who can forget the three dumpsters turned into swimming pools?! Unfortunately, the pools are not open to the public but as there are instructions all over the Internet (this is a pretty major DIY project) on how to make your own, we just might see more cropping up around the city next year.
